Hello! My name is Kaitlin and I am the face behind Encore Dogs! I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT #01645) and a registered Animal Training Instructor (ATI) with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC).
Having grown up with a reactive dog, I know firsthand how challenging it can be just to leave the house and how crucial early, preventative training really is.
I began my training journey as a Puppy School UK tutor, helping dog parents catch problem behaviours early and build a strong foundation for success.
Alongside running group classes and 1:1 training for pet dogs, I now also focus on training assistance dogs. This means the techniques I use are not only force-free and effective, they’re proven to meet the high standards required to pass an assistance dog test. If they work for those dogs, they’ll work for yours too!
Before finding dog training, I was involved in the theatre and film industry, so I am combining both passions through trick training for professional and pet dogs.
I recently appeared with Freya the Australian Shepherd in the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures on BBC4.
I am also active in the assistance dog community — not only with DogAID, but also as a volunteer puppy fosterer for Guide Dogs UK and an assessor for the Assistance Dog Assessment Association.

Me? Training chin rest? What a surprise! 😂
Frances has a great chin rest already so I’m slowly starting to incorporate some handling by moving my hand close to her head and toes.
