APDT Good Companion Awards
Dreaming of a confident, well-rounded, and happy dog?
The APDT Good Companion Awards have been carefully designed to help you and your dog obtain an award for being a good companions.
Train flexibly through drop-in sessions and start the assessment when you are ready.
Awards can be assessed within a 6-week period, so no pressure to do every skill at once!
Work at your own pace in a welcoming and encouraging group environment.
Classes run in 6-week blocks, covering different skills each week and are flexible to accommodate each dog team depending where they are in their Good Companion journey.
You can book a single class, or pack of 6 at a discount.
*classes are open to all dogs from 6 months old. If you are unsure wether your dog is suitable, send me a message and we can chat!*
Puppy School UK
Puppy School is a set of six puppy training classes lasting one hour. The comprehensive curriculum has been carefully designed to take you through all the training basics giving you a great foundation for life with your new puppy, or for any further training classes or dog sport you choose to do later.
The puppy training exercises gradually progress from easy to more complex, building on your puppy’s understanding and reliability each week
What will your puppy learn?
- Come when called
- Calm settling
- Loose lead walking
- Handling and vet exam practise
- Sit, down and stand and stay on cue
- Greeting people and other puppies
- …And so much more!
Is my puppy suitable?
Starting training as early as possible is the best way to set the stage for success. We welcome any pup up to 20 weeks old at the start of the course. All puppies should have their first round of vaccinations. Any questions? Get in touch via kaitlin@encoredogs.com

Me? Training chin rest? What a surprise! 😂
Frances has a great chin rest already so I’m slowly starting to incorporate some handling by moving my hand close to her head and toes.
She is SO keen to train and learn. Such a clever pup ❤️
